John Hooton wins top French Photography Award

 

John Hooton of Mallow Camera Club has once again proved that he is among the top
international photographers.  At the 7th Salon Mondail of Photography De Limours
John took the top prize in the colour section and in doing so won a F.I.A.P. Gold
Medal for his panel of four images.
Nearly 1,000 photographers entered this competition with only 25% been accepted
to have their work exhibited in this prestigious event.
John has been a member of Mallow Camera Club for the last 25 years and the club
has gone from strength to strength recently winning the Rose Bowl which is the
top All Ireland Club award.  The club meets every Monday night at the Southside
Community Centre and new members are always welcome. www.mallowcameraclub.ie

John Hooton wins major international photographic award in the U.K.

At the 32nd Northern Counties International Salon of Photography John Hooton of Mallow Camera Club won a Royal Photographic Society Gold Medal for the best panel of four images in the colour section. This is one of the U.K.’s major photographic salons and draws entries from all over the world. It was judged by a panel of international judges during August. This is the first time John has won an R.P.S. Gold medal and he can now add this to his collection of international awards. In the same competition John also won the judges medal for his black and white image “Minard Stone”.

John Hooton Wins Three International Awards
At the Southampton International Exhibition 2011 John's image "Inch Beach" received an honourable mention certificate.  At the Third Great British Small Print Circuit 2011, in the monochrome section John's image "Minard Stone" received a certificate of merit and at the Bristol International Salon of Photography his colour image "White Rock" was highly commended in the colour print section.

John Hooton Teams up with Tony Worobiec

Two of Europe's finest seascape photographers John Hooton and Tony Worobiec  team up to provide  two separate 4 day photographic courses on the west coast of Ireland for just £395 per person. You will be picked up from either Cork or Kerry airport on the Thursday and returned the following Monday. You will enjoy B&B style accommodation and each guest will be offered sole occupancy; some have ensuite facilities. In addition to a continental-style breakfast, you will be offered refreshments throughout the course of the day. The only extra cost will be the main meal at the end of each day; local pubs do main courses for around 15 Euros.


The dates on offer are;

Thursday March 23rd 2012 - Monday 26th.
Thursday April 26th 2012 - Monday 30th.

Exhibition in Dublin 2011

Brid Coakley and John Hooton of Mallow Camera Club are currently exhibiting a selection of their photographic work in The Dublin Photographic Centre, Camden Stree, Dublin.  The event is been hosted by Dublin Camera Club and was opened recently following a lecture by both Brid and John to members of Dublin Clubs. The exhibition runs until the 16th of July.  There are 32 framed images on display of the most recent work by these two photographers.

This exhibition is part of the PhotoIreland Festival
